I'm Taron Hill. Husband, father, advisor — and the record I came home with.
I was eighteen when I was falsely accused, and thirty-five when I finally walked free from a prison I never should have been in.
I was exonerated in 2021 after spending sixteen and a half years imprisoned for a crime I didn't commit. My case later became the first wrongful conviction formally cleared by the Conviction Review Unit at the New Jersey Attorney General's Office.
I didn't spend those years waiting. I used the time to educate myself in business management, financial literacy, and the disciplines that now shape my advisory practice. I studied the same materials law students were reading, and in the midst of it all, I wrote a picture book for my daughters in the margins.
— TaronThe Doorway. The Reunion.
When the gate finally opened, the first thing I did was embrace the people who never stopped holding me up from the other side — my daughter, my family, and the ones who waited far too long for me to come home.
